Welcome:
In early 1948, Emanuel D'Amico rented a small brownstone storefront at 309 Court Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Like so many others, Emanuel had made the journey from Palermo, Sicily — part of the great wave of Italians who crossed the Atlantic in search of a better life. The road hadn't been easy. A failed pasta venture had left him with little, and New York felt like his last real chance. He worked odd jobs, tried a few side ventures, and slowly found his footing.
Then came the moment that changed everything. After years apart, Emanuel's wife joined him in Brooklyn through a U.S. sponsored amnesty program. Together, they opened the doors to D'Amico Foods — and never looked back.

60 years later:
From the very beginning, coffee was at the heart of D'Amico Foods. In 1948, good coffee was nearly impossible to find — most of what lined store shelves was mass-produced and flavorless. Emanuel had a different vision. With an AJ Deer Royal Roaster and a 10-pound capacity, he became one of Brooklyn's first small-batch, roast-to-order coffee roasters — guaranteeing that every bag that left the shop was fresh.
His approach was quietly revolutionary. Word spread quickly through the Italian immigrant community in Carroll Gardens, drawn in as much by the rich aroma drifting into the street as by the coffee itself.

Neighborhood roaster:
Three generations and more than 60 years later, D'Amico is still a cornerstone of Carroll Gardens — a Brooklyn institution that has stood the test of time. And while the neighborhood has changed around us, one thing never has: our commitment to fresh, small-batch coffee roasted the same way Emanuel did it back in 1948.
That's the tradition we set out to share when we founded D'Amico Coffee. We've grown our facilities and expanded into wholesale, but the craft hasn't changed. Because at the end of the day, we're still a family business — and wherever you are, we're your neighborhood roaster.
